
Brand launch and updates on international AI initiatives
On May 22nd, the GIS Group held its second Townhall meeting of the year — [Group e-connect] 2025!
This edition of [Group e-connect] brought together our teams from Portugal, Germany and India with more than 1.000 colleagues joining us worldwide! It was a special event that highlighted the diversity and collaboration across our many joint projects.
A huge thank you to all the speakers who shared their insights and updates with the entire GIS Group, and to everyone who participated in making this session a success!
Welcome and status update on the rebranding initiative
The event started with a warm welcome by Sidharth Yadav, who kicked-off and welcomed the 1.000 participants by giving an overview of the latest developments within the group. He then presented a brief update on the group's rebranding initiative, highlighting the progress and status quo of the project.
Current highlights of the Group
Premal Buddhev (IN), Felix Krüger (PT) and Dirk Schäfer (DE) each presented the current highlights and successes of the new domain setup which is essential for the further strategy. The presentations provided a comprehensive overview of the Group's recent successes and achievements.
Technology & Innovation – Product Showcases
Particular attention was paid to the presentation of VW Bridge, a platform that better connects employees and knowledge to build up a knowledge community over the whole Group. Other topics included the FX4 Demand, a solution for forecasting demand for vehicle parts, and the AI Agents, which will present innovative approaches to increase efficiency and automation. Special thanks to Patricia Souza (PT), Christian Kulina (DE), Ravi Jotwani (IN) and Nikhil Gupta (IN) for showcasing these great projects.
Technology & Innovation – AIPowerX – Vision & Strategy
Bringing together all AI activities within one name: AIPowerX. Kamna Sama (IN), Gomes Goncalo (PT) and Martin Meinshausen (DE) presented the Group's AI strategy in relation to the developed innovation pyramid. In a gradual rollout, we will stepwise use and develop AI technologies and forcing the standard "No process without AI".
Q&A sessions
The event was rounded off with a Q&A session. Our people had the opportunity to ask questions and receive direct feedback from the leadership team. The second Group e-Connect event was a complete success and offered participants valuable insights into the latest developments and innovations of the GIS Group.
We are already looking forward to the next event and to achieving our goals together as one strong group.
